Kickstarter – Blades in the Dark

Blades in the Dark is a tabletop RPG about a crew of daring scoundrels building a criminal empire in a haunted city full of thieves.

This looks like a really good idea and setting for a game with a system that lets your crew progress in the great city; what I’m certainly interested is the mechanics that govern how a heist is planned.   We’ve all been there at the table when people start over-thinking things and try planning for every single contingency that may occur.

I remember the time I spent waiting for the players to plan everything before that infamous game of Cyborg Commando and being the polite sort I didn’t want to interrupt them by telling them it was all pointless.

Kickstarter – Pro-Wrasslin’ Battle Royale : Card Game of Champions!

Greetings grapple fans! This chaotic card game brings the electrifying action of the wrestling ring into the palm of your hand…

Now this is a fun game to play, I was lucky enough to purchase a copy of the first edition from Joe J Prince of http://www.princeofdarknessgames.com/ when he was at Dragonmeet a few years ago.  It would have been more of a laugh if more than two of us played it but that’s for next time 🙂

Kickstarter – Fabled Environments Presents: Wild West Floorplans

You got your sarsaparilla and some purdy dice, but somethin’s missin’! You need some shiny new western floor plans for your table!!

Even though I don’t yet have a use for these plans, if I ever get around to doing the western game then I may have to make use of these plans.

I have backed their previous project for the shopping mall and I was very impressed with it, a massive shopping mall ready to be printed out.

Kickstarter – The Thunderbirds Co-operative Board Game

Back in December at Dragonmeet I had the chance to play an early prototype of the The Thunderbirds Co-operative Board Game and the Kickstarter is now live.

Join International Rescue, avert disasters, and foil the Hood’s evil scheme in THUNDERBIRDS, the new co-op game from Matt Leacock

The funding period ends on the 29th March so you have plenty of time to back it; however one of the pledge levels reaches £70,000 it becomes locked and no longer available for selecting.  At the time of writing the amount pledged was nearly halfway there.

Kickstarter – Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion for Call of Cthulhu

One game I have enjoyed over the years is the Call of Cthulhu, partly because it is a game of investigation but mainly the era of the roaring 20s.  It even made number  in my top ten game list.

Over the years Chaosium have released numerous adventures and globe trotting campaigns including the spectacular Masks of Nyarlathotep. The adventure is very well written with all the important clues indexed and referenced for ease of play by the busy GM, the only downside is that there appears to be material missing; perhaps things man was not meant to know that didn’t make the cut.

A number of years ago, I saw that there was going to be a companion written for this game and released as one of the Monograph line that Chaosium were printing; for one reason or another it never appeared until the unfinished edition was released over at the Yog-Sothoth forums.  Now they plan on finally polishing the document and releasing it to the general public (no relation 🙂 ) .

Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion for Call of Cthulhu

An essential reference to a great RPG campaign-The Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion. Information, advice & adventures in 1 huge volume!

The project runs until 10th March so you still have time to get in on it.
